HATTON VS. MALIGNAGGI FIGHT RESULT

OHHH RICKY HATTON…..

Ricky Hatton still the IBO and Ring Magazine Lightweight Champion of the World. The referee stopped the fight 28 seconds of Round 11, after Paul Malignaggi’s coach raise the white towel symbolizing that they want to end up the game. Paul Malignaggi was very disappointed about the decision of his coach and the rest of the staff in his ringside. He pushed his coach and even though he doesn’t seems good in the previous rounds, he is still eager to finish the round. I think that call was inappropriate because at that time, Hatton was warned by the referee of using his elbow and no knockout happened.

Round 1 was I think a good round for Malinaggi after he left a big black contusion on Hatton’s left eye. But in Round 2, Hatton started to throw some power punches and one of this punches shaked Malignaggi. Malignaggi holds Hatton in order to survive in Round 2 and seems to be a little dizzy after that strike.

Well, for me, the coach should have let Malignaggi finish the fight. Even though it seems pretty obvious that Hatton will win, it’s good to feel that you haven’t let it over in that way. He was not knockdown or had a serious cuts so Malignaggi has a right to continue the fight and excel his best at the end of the round.
