DOUBLE MASTECTOMY - TOUGH CHOICE

Double Mastectomy is very tough decision for women who has breast cancer. Study shows that most women who has breast cancer choose to have double mastectomy.



I am not that too familiar with this kind of surgery but what I know is, double mastectomy is actually complete removal of both of a woman’s breasts.



I have checked many sites regarding double mastectomy and review all the doctor’s or researcher’s review regarding this mastectomy. And according to Dr. Susan Love (blog.dslrf.org), most women choose to have double mastectomy because surgeons are not really explaining to them that recurrence rate in the scar is 5-10%, this not impact survival, and studies shows that breast cancer on one breast does not really always affects the other breast.

One of the popular star who just undergone Double Mastectomy is the Emmy Award winner Christina Applegate. It seems that nothings change in her life after the Double Mastectomy. I mean th no problem at all after she undergone that surgery. Christina Applegate just said in recent news that Double Mastectomy is the most logical option. She has actually one breast affected by cancer but decided to remove both of her breasts so that it will not affect the other. Christina said in the recent news that she love her life and she is happy that she had passed this great challenge in life. I am very very proud of Christina. She is really brave and I find it very touching when she said that she really care about her life. Christina we are very proud of you here!
